Georgian Defence Minister with General Gábor Böröndi, the Chief of the General Staff of the Hungarian Defence Forces, who is on an official visit to Georgia.

Irakli Chikovani expressed gratitude to the Hungarian side for its firm support of Georgia`s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and highlighted the positive dynamics of cooperation between the two countries. He underlined the importance of the joint declaration on strategic partnership and the defense cooperation document signed between Georgia and Hungary.

The parties discussed the areas outlined in the bilateral plan between the defense institutions of Georgia and Hungary, as well as the current security environment in the region and globally. The discussions further covered existing cooperation between Georgia and Hungary in the fields of defense, military education, training, and military medicine, as well as prospects for future collaboration.

General Gábor Böröndi is paying a 2-day official visit to Georgia. He honored the memory of the heroes who fell in the battles for Georgia`s territorial integrity by laying a wreath at the Heroes Memorial.
