National Environmental Agency warns of rain, hail, and high winds across Georgia

The National Environmental Agency has issued a severe weather warning and published information regarding the upcoming weather forecast in Georgia.

According to the agency, during August 13–15, periodic rainfall is expected across most of Georgia’s territory. On August 13–14, heavy downpours are anticipated in some areas of the Adjara-Guria, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Kvemo Kartli, and Kakheti regions.

On August 15, intense precipitation is expected in parts of the Kvemo Kartli, Kakheti, and Mtskheta-Mtianeti regions. Thunderstorms, hail, and strengthening winds are also possible.

The expected heavy rainfall may trigger flash floods on small rivers, as well as initiate and activate landslide and mudflow processes in hilly and mountainous zones.
