With the support of the National National Tourism Administration and by invitation of “Gastrotour”, Georgia was visited by globally recognized gastronomic experts, journalists from the Michelin Guide, Forbes, and The World’s 50 Best, as well as culinary researchers, documentarians, influencers, and chefs.
As part of the tour, the guests visited various regions of Georgia, where they familiarized themselves with local products, ancient winemaking traditions, regional cuisine, and modern Georgian gastronomic trends. Masterclasses in Georgian culinary arts and wine tastings were organized specially for the visitors.
The goal of the tour is to position Georgia as a global gastronomic destination, and to popularize Georgian culinary heritage, modern cuisine, Georgian winemaking, and local products on the world’s leading media platforms.
“Georgian dishes are incredibly delicious. Georgia stands out for its immense hospitality, and there is so much to learn from the Georgian supra [feast]. It is not just a dinner; it is a true cultural element. Winemaking was invented in Georgia, and your wine is truly unique. As for Tbilisi, it is a very safe and beautiful city. I advise everyone to come to Georgia and taste Georgian cuisine and wine”, - said Jonathan Cano, a gastronomic expert from the USA.
“This is my first visit to Georgia. The Georgian National Museum was highly impressive. Your country has a very long and rich history, highlighted by an 8,000-year-old wine culture. But the people made the greatest impression on me. They are very kind, warm, and hospitable. Of course, the Georgian supra and dishes are outstanding”, - said Hon En Park, a representative of a South Korean travel magazine.
