By decision of Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia a competition for three-month paid internships will be launched from 1 September 2026 in public institutions, as well as in legal entities of public or private law operating within the public institutional system.
Applicants will be able to apply from September 1 through September 10, 2026 via the website administered by the Government Administration, www.vacancy.hr.gov.ge, for up to 3000 internship vacancies announced by various public institutions.
Eligible applicants are capable citizens of Georgia who have knowledge of the state language and are either studying at the first level of higher education (BA in their final year) or at the second level (MA/MSc) or who completed the first or second level of higher education during the spring semester of the 2025-2026 academic year.
Academic performance has been established as one of the selection criteria, with applicants required to have a score of 71-100 points and/or a GPA of 2.7-4.0. In addition, institutions may establish additional qualification requirements depending on the specific needs of the relevant structural unit. The competition will consist of two stages: application screening and interviews. Applicants will be evaluated by a commission established by the head of the relevant public institution. In cases where candidates are considered equally qualified, preference during the interview stage will be given to candidates with higher academic performance.
Selected candidates will undertake their internships from October 1 through December 31, 2026.
Internships undertaken at public institutions where the work is considered public service will count towards public service experience. Internships at legal entities of public or private law within the public institutional system will count towards general professional/work experience.
