Prime Minister of Georgia said that discussions about Russophobia in Georgian society and the government’s increased focus on the issue are linked to a new campaign planned by the deep state.
Asked by TV Pirveli whether he considers Russophobia a major challenge in Georgian society and whether the issue deserves such significant attention from the government, Irakli Kobakhidze said it “deserves extraordinary attention”.
“It deserves great attention, it deserves special attention for one simple reason. We see that this is a newly planned campaign by the “Deep State”, in which the entire political apparatus is involved - the foreign agency in the form of parties, in the form of politicians, in the form of NGOs, and including in your [TV Pirveli] form. Because you are the main ones who ensure this Russophobic campaign from the media perspective. Consequently, since we see that the “Deep State” is paying special attention to this Russophobic campaign, we too must pay special attention to this campaign and provide the public with full information regarding this issue”, - said the Prime Minister.
