Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture David Songulashvili visited the production facilities at the St. Nino Convent in the village of Foka, Ninotsminda Municipality, where he toured the facilities and observed the nuns producing dairy products.

The St. Nino Convent in Foka produces a diverse range of products, most notably its renowned cheese, which is made using European technologies adapted to local conditions.

"Cheese, honey, and other products produced at the Foka Convent are a good example of the development of local production. We aim to support the development of high-quality local products and strengthen their position in the market", - said David Songulashvili.

The Foka Convent is located on the shores of Lake Paravani and is one of the important cultural and tourist destinations across the Samtskhe-Javakheti region. The convent produces a variety of products, including dairy products, honey, and chocolate. The products made at the convent are sold at its local shop, and demand for them is increasing as tourist numbers continue to grow.

The Deputies of the Minister, Giorgi Tskrialashvili and Lasha Avaliani, Head of the National Food Agency, Giorgi Iakobashvili, and Samvel Manukyan, the Georgian Parliament`s delegate for the Akhalkalaki and Ninotsminda municipalities, accompanied the Minister.
