At the invitation of the Locum Tenens of the Patriarchal Throne, His Eminence Metropolitan Shio, a session of the Holy Synod is to be convened at the Patriarchate today, April 3.

The session will start at 12:00. The purpose of the meeting is to address those organisational matters not provided for under the statutes governing the administration of the Georgian Orthodox Church, among them, further particulars concerning subsequent sessions of the Synod and the enlarged council, the venue for the council’s convocation, the procedure for summoning delegates, and other such necessary questions.
