As a result of investigative and operational activities, the employees of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the State Security Service of Georgia, based on the ruling of a judge, arrested two individuals on the fact of fraudulently taking funds of another person committed by a group with a prior agreement.

The investigation established that a Nigerian citizen residing in Georgia and the coach of the LLC “Football Club – Gardabani”, with the intent to assist in obtaining a temporary residence permit in Georgia, registered a Nigerian citizen with the same football club through a fictitious contract, in exchange for which they received 3 000 USD from that individual.

The investigation is being conducted under Subparagraphs “a” and “b” of Paragraph 2 of the Article 19-180 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment for a term up to 7 years as the form of punishment.
