In the context of the development of the country`s transport sector, the Anaklia Deep Sea Port project is, of course, of particular importance. Such a statement made today the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development.

As she noted, active construction works are currently underway at this stage.

"Presently, dredging works have already begun on the territory of the Anaklia Deep Sea Port. We made an important decision and altered the operational model of the Anaklia Port, which will give us the opportunity to ensure, on one hand, that the port remains under Georgian ownership, and on the other hand, the existing model will allow us to secure the involvement of numerous international partners in its operation… The Anaklia Port will contribute not only to the development of Georgia`s economy and transport sector but will also play a crucial role in the context of the development of the Middle Corridor", - said Mariam Kvrivishvili.
