There are relevant agencies that scrutinize cartel transactions and take suitable action when needed. We must wait for such an investigation before making any statements - Kobakhidze

There are relevant agencies that scrutinize cartel transactions and take suitable action when needed, we must wait for such an investigation before making any definitive statements, said today the Prime Minister of Georgia.

"A parliamentary commission will undoubtedly be established. That is the decision of the legislature. As for specific potential cartel deals, I will not comment in detail today.

We are currently meeting with Georgian food producers to hear their perspectives and gather information from them. We don`t want to draw premature conclusions.

The relevant agencies are examining possible cartel arrangements and will take appropriate measures if necessary. We should await the results of their investigation before making any specific remarks. The key is to listen to everyone and, together, we must find the best ways to reduce prices. That remains our main objective", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
