Marco Rubio`s statement confirms that the funds that were coming to Georgia through USAID raise a lot of question marks - Kaladze

A small part of the funds that came to Georgia were directed to finance various projects, but in reality they were directed to politics, to manage the country`s internal processes, and to encourage aggressive groups. Such a comment made today the Mayor of Tbilisi, while assessing the statement of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, where he talks about the cancellation of USAID.

"We shouldn`t even put a question mark - these funds that were coming to Georgia from various international organizations were transparent or opaque.

Today, it is already clear to everyone what they were used for. A small part was directed to finance various projects and was packaged like that. In reality, it was aimed at financing the management of internal processes in politics, encouraging aggressive groups, inciting polarization, and dividing society.

That is why we were talking about the need for transparency, that both the state and society should know how the funds that come into our country through various organizations are spent. Rubio`s statement also indicates this, that the funds that came through USAID in this specific case raise a lot of question marks", - said Kakha Kaladze.
