We have placed particular emphasis on reforming general education, which will make a significant contribution to the further progress and development of the country, said the Prime Minister of Georgia during his speech at the unveiling of the general education reform concept.
“Today marks a very significant occasion as we present the concept for general education reform. Recently, we introduced the concept of higher education reform. Of course, we all understand that without reforming general education, any efforts to overhaul higher education are doomed to fail.
If a pupil does not learn the knowledge and skills at school that will be beneficial in their future career, the system as a whole cannot be successful.
That is why we have placed particular emphasis on reforming general education; this document was created based on the same principles as the higher education reform concept. It concisely identifies eight key challenges facing the general education system, along with eight corresponding strategies to address each of them.
I want to personally thank the Minister, Givi Mikanadze, and the entire team of the Ministry, as well as everyone involved in the development of this concept. I am sure that this reform will be implemented successfully and will, ultimately, make a substantial contribution to our country’s progress and development”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
