Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Aleksandre Darakhvelidze, together with the French Ambassador to Georgia Olivier Courteau and the Director of the Customs Department of the Revenue Service Mikheil Chokoshvili, opened an international seminar entitled "Port Security and Combating Drug Trafficking: From the Black Sea to the European Union".

Darakhvelidze addressed the seminar participants with a welcoming speech and drew attention to the strict state policy and effective measures taken by the Ministry of Internal Affairs to combat drug trafficking.

The international seminar was organized by the French Embassy in Georgia on November 25-26, in Tbilisi. It is being held in Batumi and aims to strengthen cooperation between states in the fight against drug trafficking in the Black Sea basin.

Representatives of law enforcement agencies, customs services and the private sector from 13 European countries are participating in the seminar.
