The Ministry of Internal Affairs issues a statement regarding the plane crash that occurred in the Sighnaghi municipality.

"A Turkish military plane crashed in Sighnaghi municipality, approximately 5 kilometers from the Georgian state border. According to preliminary information, the plane was flying from Azerbaijan to the direction of Turkey.

An investigation into the incident is in progress under Article 275, part IV of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which refers to a violation of the rules of air transport safety or operation, resulting in the loss of human life.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs will provide the public with detailed information regarding the incident gradually", - reads the statement.
