Mariam Lashkhi, Chairperson of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee, addressed the participants of the ceremony dedicated to International Day of Science, held in the National Academy of Sciences.

Ms Lashkhi expressed gratitude to the scientists for their contribution to the country`s development: "Congratulations on the International Day of Science - a day that reminds us that knowledge is the light capable of changing the world. It is science that allows us to understand the cognitive laws of the universe, create innovations, solve global challenges, and transform our daily lives for the better. Georgia must become part of the global chain and, once again, make its own meaningful contribution".

Givi Mikanadze, the Education, Science and Youth Minister, Eka Sepashvili, member of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee and the Chair of the Political Group "People`s Power", and the President of the National Academy of Sciences, Roin Metreveli also addressed the attendees.

Mikanadze and Metreveli delivered the academic awards to over 40 scientists.

World Science Day, established by UNESCO in 2001, is celebrated annually on November 10 across the globe. The main theme of the 2025 International Day of Science is: "Trust, transformation, and tomorrow: The science we need for 2050". The ceremony was attended by the representatives of the executive, legislative and local authorities, the Patriarchy of Georgia and the scientific circles
