Historically, China has been a central pillar of the Silk Road, shaping trade and cultural relations for centuries. Georgia, as an important part of the Middle Corridor, is ready to expand cooperation with China. Such a statement the Prime Minister of Georgia made at the meeting with the Premier of the State Council of the People`s Republic of China, Li Qiang.

"Relations between Georgia and China continue to develop steadily, based on the principles of mutual respect, equality and cooperation.

We sincerely value China`s firm support for Georgia`s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as its unwavering commitment to the policy of non-recognition of Georgia`s occupied territories.

Georgia supports the One China Principle and China`s territorial integrity.

This friendship and mutual understanding have naturally translated into dynamic economic cooperation between our countries.

China is among Georgia`s top four trading partners. The Free Trade Agreement (FTA) has significantly contributed to the growth of bilateral trade, and Georgian exports to China have increased substantially.

We are also pleased to see a growing trend in freight turnover. In January-August 2025, the number of containers shipped through Georgia between China and Europe via the Middle Corridor increased by 70.6% compared to the same period last year. We are ready to deepen cooperation further to expand transport flows between China and Europe through Georgia.

Building on these achievements, investment remains one of the most promising areas of cooperation. In the first two quarters of 2025, investments from China to Georgia amounted to 7.43 million USD- a 229% increase compared to the same period of the previous year. We believe that this positive dynamic will continue and further strengthen our economic partnership.
