Maka Botchorishvili meets UNESCO Director-General

Within the framework of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference, Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs held a meeting with UNESCO Director-General.

Maka Botchorishvili and Audrey Azoulay positively assessed the ongoing cooperation between Georgia and UNESCO in culture, education, and science, and discussed prospects for further strengthening bilateral relations.

The Minister expressed her gratitude to the Director-General for the fruitful partnership and for UNESCO’s continued support of projects aimed at protecting Georgia’s cultural heritage.

Special attention was also given to the issue of safeguarding cultural heritage in the occupied territories of Georgia. Azoulay, in turn, thanked the Georgian side for its active engagement and constructive contribution to UNESCO’s activities.
