David Matikashvili, Chair of the Committee, introduced the draft resolution on the verification of the authenticity of the signatures of MPs on the Constitutional claim.

“In line with paragraph 3, Article 204, and Article 222 of the Rules of Procedure, the Committee has inspected the authenticity of the MP signatures on the constitutional claim and verified the authenticity of the signatures of 88 Members of Parliament”, - he elucidated.

According to him, in accordance with the Rules of Procedure, the Parliament is entitled to address the Constitutional Court with the submitted claim.

The Faction “Georgian Dream”, the Political Groups “People’s Power” and “European Socialists” have developed a joint Constitutional claim demanding the recognition of three political parties as unconstitutional and their prohibition from politics.

These Parties are: Political Unions of Citizens “Unity - National Movement”, “Coalition for Changes, Gvaramia, Melia, Girchi, Droa”, and “Powerful Georgia - Lelo, for People, for Freedom”.
