The Legal Affairs Committee deliberated on and approved the Draft Law on the Fight against Corruption for the II reading, submitted for expedited consideration.

Pursuant to the Draft, the exception to the restriction of the occupation of other positions by the public servant is supplemented by the position of a member of the LEPL Pension Fund Governing Board. Furthermore, the paid activity of public servants employed in other Commissions and Boards established for the exercise of administrative or consultative functions in the public service shall no longer be qualified as official incompatibility.

According to the reporter, Deputy Economy and Sustainable Development Minister Irakli Nadareishvili, no amendments have been introduced to the Law within the II reading.

The Draft Law is initiated by the Government.

Today, the Committee will also deliberate on the Draft Law for the III reading after the plenary session.
