On October 29, the Parliament is hearing the Infrastructure Minister, Revaz Sokhadze, within the Interpellation. As the Speaker, H.E. Shalva Papuashvili stated at the Bureau, the Faction “Georgian Dream” addressed the Infrastructure Minister with an interpellation and the questions have already been submitted to the Ministry.

The Speaker elucidated the interpellation procedure envisaged under the new Rules of Procedure.

"The new rule of interpellation provides an even more active and flexible tool for submitting questions to a Minister. Under the new procedure, questions are sent in advance and their number is not limited. The Minister will answer these pre-submitted questions during a plenary session within the framework of the interpellation. This process is limited to a maximum of three hours. Consequently, for the first time, an interpellation will be conducted under the new rule provided by the Rules of Procedure and I believe it will be of interest to both members of Parliament and the public”, - the Speaker stated.

This week, the plenary sessions are scheduled for October 28 and 29.

The Speaker responded to the commencement of the parliamentary activities by the party “Gakharia for Georgia”, noting that they will be provided with all conditions for effective activity.

“Last week, the Party “Gakharia for Georgia" made a statement about their intention to use their mandates, which are still valid, and abstain from the truancy of the sessions. They were experiencing difficulties. Now, they will enjoy the opportunity to apply all instruments envisaged under the Rules of Procedure, available for the Members of Parliament. They will be provided with all conditions in the Parliament”, - the Speaker stated.

The Bureau determined the plenary agenda for the current week and deliberated on the new legal initiatives.
