The Committees approved the Draft State Budget 2026

The Foreign Relations, the EU Integration, and the Diaspora Committees deliberated on the Draft State Budget 2026, introduced by Giorgi Kakauridze, the First Deputy Finance Minister.

According to him, Georgia enjoys economic growth in the post-pandemic period, exceeding the forecasted rates. In the four-year period, the real economic growth achieved 45%, and the nominal GDP growth - 85%, while the mixed budget amounts surpassed 9 billion GEL.

The reporter reviewed the main macroeconomic parameters, noting that the real economic growth is planned at 5%, and the forecast in the average term - at 5,3%.

As per the reporter, the nominal GDP forecast is determined by 110,5 billion GEL. GDP growth by 2029 shall achieve 140,9 billion GEL, which per capita will exceed 13,900 USD.

In accordance with the main financial document, the mixed budget tax revenues shall be determined by 26,8 billion GEL, the budget deficit is 2,5% of GDP, and the state debt - within 35% of GDP. According to G. Kakauridze, the expenditures part of the mixed budget in sum constitutes 35,5 billion GEL, which shall fully refund the state debts. In line with the updated forecast for 2026, the mixed budget tax revenues in the nominal expression constitute 26,800,0 million GEL, which exceeds the index of 2025 by 1,495,0 million GEL.

As the introduced Draft envisages, the total index of the incomes to the state budget 2026 shall be determined in the amount of 30,290,8 million GEL, and the budget assignments constitute 30,475,9 million GEL.

The reporter introduced the financing per the Ministry. As he noted, 220,0 ml GEL is allocated for the Foreign Ministry. According to him, assets for the Ministry comprise some more directions, including the financing of the representations in various countries. 1,900,000 GEL is envisaged for the diaspora policy: "The introduced Draft is an initial document. We continue active collaboration with the Ministries and the respective Parliamentary Committees and, as I presume, by the end of November, the document would be communicated in terms of the parameters and the amounts, which will be endorsed by the Parliament in December".
