No organization or state has made a statement condemning and distancing itself from the attempt to overthrow people`s elected Government, which is an indirect but clear expression of support for overthrow and violence. Such a statement the Prime Minister of Georgia made at today’s briefing.
"It has been four days since the violent storming of the Presidential Palace, an act aimed at toppling the government chosen by the Georgian people.
Yet, during this period, no international organization or state that claims to assess Georgia`s internal political situation, criticize the country, or give instructions, including the US, the EU, and certain EU nations, has made any statement condemning or distancing itself from the attempt to overthrow the government and the violent assault on the Presidential Palace.
Moreover, the European Union, the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, and other entities have even dared to make statements of the opposite spirit. Naturally, the failure to separate and condemn the attempted overthrow and violence can easily be interpreted as an indirect but clear expression of support for the overthrow and violence", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
