I want to address all the loud-mouthed diplomats - the United National Movement [UNM] is openly announcing the commission of criminal acts every day. Such a statement made today Speaker of the Georgian Parliament.

“Obstruction of elections and violence are criminal offences; throwing Molotov cocktails constitutes domestic terrorism; attacking a police officer is a criminal offence. These acts have been openly declared. The UNM is organising and inciting such crimes for October 4. It is shameful that the European Commission and its spokesperson express solidarity with these criminal acts. We see this as a deliberate attempt to drag Georgia back to the 1990s.

We must remember that Georgia’s institutions have long since moved beyond that era. No one will be allowed to commit a crime and go unpunished. To all the loud-mouthed diplomats, social media advocates, donors, and foreign politicians: every day, the UNM proclaims its intent to commit criminal acts. They should clarify to NGOs what it means to operate within the legal framework, or when a criminal act occurs and the state responds, there will be no more crocodile tears, because solidarity with the UNM fuels criminal incitement.

When a crime happens, there will be a reaction, and let us not see crocodile tears from some European politicians or NGOs”, - said Shalva Papuashvili.
