Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia inspected the construction works of the Sagarejo-Badiauri highway.
The ongoing works were presented to the Head of Government of Georgia by Minister of Infrastructure Revaz Sokhadze.
On the 17 km section of the Sagarejo-Badiauri road, which forms part of the Kakheti Highway, current activities include earthworks, roadbed preparation, relocation of communications and irrigation systems, installation of reinforced concrete piles, as well as construction of reinforced concrete culverts and underpasses.
As part of the project, a new traffic interchange is being built near the village of Badiauri, along with 4 bridges, 8 overpasses and 86 culverts.
The 4-lane Sagarejo-Badiauri road section is part of the Kakheti highway. Construction works have already been completed on the most important 35 km section of the highway. The construction of the 17 km Sagarejo-Badiauri section is being carried out with the financial support of the World Bank, at a cost of 276.7 million GEL.
Along with the Prime Minister of Georgia, the construction site was also inspected by Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture David Songhulashvili, Minister of Education Givi Mikanadze and representatives of the legislative authorities of the country.
