A few minutes ago, the 80th session of the UN General Assembly officially opened in New York. The President of Georgia is in the US along with world leaders.

The session was opened by General Assembly President Annalena Baerbock, who spoke about the main challenges facing the UN.

Mikheil Kavelashvili is scheduled to deliver a speech at the Assembly session this week. The President will speak about the ongoing processes in the country, the importance of peace, economic development and international projects.

In parallel, high-level meetings will be held, including with the UN Secretary-General. Mikheil Kavelashvili will also attend an official reception, which will be held on behalf of the US President and his wife.
