The Election Administration is continuing its active preparations for the 4 October municipal elections. Precisely within this context, a nationwide mock election was conducted on 13 September across 207 polling stations, involving the participation of up to 1,500 polling station officials and technical personnel. Conduct of mock elections constitutes an essential component of contemporary electoral administration practice, ensuring both the efficiency of electoral processes and the attainment of a high state of readiness for election day.

The Chairperson of the Central Election Commission, Giorgi Kalandarishvili, personally observed the proceedings of the mock election process in Sighnaghi. As he noted, the purpose of conducting the mock election is not only to test preparedness for the elections but also to provide a practical, real-environment evaluation of the technological means and logistical issues at the polling stations. According to his statement, such a mock election creates an opportunity for commission members to apply their acquired knowledge in practice, refine their operational coordination, and enhance their process management skills

“The Election Administration conducted a nationwide mock election across 207 locations, with the participation of electoral administrators and technical personnel. The objective of the mock election is to conduct a final pre-electoral assessment of the readiness of technological means, logistics, and other administrative aspects—including the outcomes of our training - specifically, how members of the Election Commission apply the knowledge acquired in practice. I can say with pride that the Election Administration has achieved a full state of readiness to conduct the elections scheduled for 4 October in a highly professional manner”, - said Giorgi Kalandarishvili.

Giorgi Kalandarishvili, alongside Giorgi Sharabidze, Deputy Chairperson of the CEC, and Spokesperson Natia Ioseliani, observed the proceedings of the mock election. For reference, a total of 3,051 polling stations have been established for the 4 October elections. Of these, voting will be conducted electronically at 2,284 stations, while the traditional method will be employed at 767 stations.
