political activities in Georgia cannot be funded from abroad, as this is a constitutional standard - Prime Minister

Prime Minister of Georgia said political activities in Georgia cannot be funded from abroad, as this is a constitutional standard not only in Georgia but in any democratic country.

“For years, NGOs have been funded from abroad, and during this time they were engaged in revolutionary and radical processes, directly aligned with the collective United National Movement and the radical opposition. They used foreign financing for political purposes.

Political financing from abroad is unacceptable in Georgia. This is a constitutional standard, not only in our country but in any democracy. Therefore, it is crucial that investigations look into all cases involving external funding aimed at influencing political, democratic, or electoral processes, especially those supporting radicalism in Georgia”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
