Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia introduced Mamuka Mdinaradze as the new Head of the State Security Service [SSSG] to the staff of the institution.

The Head of Government of Georgia underlined Mamuka Mdinaradze’s high qualifications and professionalism and expressed gratitude to the former Head of the SSSG, Anri Okhanashvili, for his service.

“The further strengthening of the State Security Service is our top priority. Anri Okhanashvili made a very important contribution to this, and I want to extend my deepest gratitude to him. He is an exceptionally conscientious and honest person, and throughout this period, he led the SSSG with these values.

I would like to present Mamuka Mdinaradze, who for many years has been one of the distinguished leaders of the ruling team. In various fields, he has successfully ensured progress and development, and he has made a significant contribution to strengthening the security and development of our country. He has also worked successfully in law enforcement structures for many years and, accordingly, possesses precisely the professional experience that will greatly assist him in successfully leading this Service”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.

The newly-appointed Head of the SSSG thanked the Government and Parliament of Georgia for their trust. He emphasized the agency"s role in effectively addressing the challenges facing the country.

“Today, our country is striving to secure its unique place on the world map. If SSSG does not stand in its rightful place in this process, that effort may prove futile. What Bidzina Ivanishvili, Irakli Kobakhidze, the current leadership of our country, and all of us together are striving for requires reinforcement, and in this reinforcement, no institution or agency plays as vital a role as the SSSG. In this, I will count on each of you”, - said Mamuka Mdinaradze.

Anri Okhanashvili, who has been appointed Advisor to the Prime Minister on National Security Affairs, thanked the Prime Minister and wished success to the new Head of the agency: “For me, it was an honor and a special responsibility to serve alongside you in protecting the national interests of our country. Therefore, I would like once again to extend my deep gratitude to the Prime Minister for this opportunity. Mamuka and I have worked together for many years in parliamentary life. Side by side, we faced the most difficult situations, and we always came out of them with dignity and in line with the national interests of our country. I am doubly pleased that Mamuka has been chosen as the Head of the SSSG, and I am confident that with all his qualities, skills, professionalism and patriotism - which he has repeatedly demonstrated - he will lead this Service with honor together with you”.
