The Parliament will elect today Head of the State Security Service. Deputies will vote on Mamuka Mdinaradze’s candidacy at a plenary session.

Before that, he will present his plans and visions regarding the work of the agency at a session of the Defense Committee. The hearing at the committee has already begun in a closed format.

Chairman of the parliamentary Defense and Security Committee, Aleksandre Tabatadze, believes that Mdinaradze has all the skills needed to Head the State Security Service.

“He will have full support. Mamuka Mdinaradze has been the leader of our majority for years and I would say that he was one of the best leaders that the “Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia” has had in recent years.

We think that he will be a successful Head of the State Security Service, because he has all the qualities that should characterize a person who loves his homeland. He has both theoretical and practical experience working in a law enforcement agency”, - said Aleksandre Tabatadze.
