In Georgia, the number of international travelers from the European Union and the United Kingdom increased significantly between January and June 2025. The data is released by the National Tourism Administration.

“Georgia reached a historic milestone in tourism, with a record 2.3 million visits in January - June 2025, the highest in the country’s history. The total number of international traveller visits reached 3.2 million. Compared to the same period in 2024, there was a 4.4% increase in international travellers, a 4.6% rise in international visitors, and a significant 6.9% growth in international tourists.

The second quarter of 2025 also saw a record number of international visits, with 1.3 million arrivals - a historic maximum. Year-over-year comparisons reveal increases of 6.9% in international travellers, 7% in international visitors, and a remarkable 10.7% in international tourists compared to the same quarter in 2024.

Data for January-June 2025 highlights a significant surge in visits from EU countries, including the UK, totalling 201,986 - representing a 10.2% increase compared to the previous year. Notable increases from specific nations include Greece (+28.2%, +3,006 visits), Italy (+26.1%, +2,271 visits), Spain (+25.9%, +1,638 visits), the UK (+25.8%, +3,880 visits), Poland (+21.9%, +6,043 visits), Germany (+4.2%, +1,296 visits).

During the same period, visits from Persian Gulf countries reached a record 47,430, reflecting a 10.5% increase (+4,525 visits). Notable growth was observed from Saudi Arabia (+20.8%), Qatar (+15.9%), and the UAE (+12.5%).

In the 2nd quarter alone, there were 32,750 visits from the Persian Gulf region—an increase of 17% (+4,752 visits) - including significant growth from Saudi Arabia (+25.4%, +4,139 visits), the UAE (+21.4%, +722 visits), Oman (+49.8%, +542 visits), Qatar (+14.6%, +58 visits), Bahrain (+7.8%, +54 visits).

Conversely, visits from Kuwait declined by 12.3% (-763 visits).
