President of the National Bank of Georgia [NBG], participated in the 24th Annual Conference of the Bank for International Settlements [BIS], which focused on the role of central banks amid digitalization and global economic fragmentation.

Natia Turnava met with European Central Bank [ECB] President Christine Lagarde to exchange views on current challenges facing the global financial system.

Turnava expressed gratitude to Lagarde on behalf of the NBG for the ECB’s continued support.

Andrew Bailey, Governor of the Bank of England, Jerome Powell, Chairman of the U.S. Federal Reserve and Pan Gongsheng, Governor of the People’s Bank of China, also attended the BIS Annual Conference.
