The Atlantic Council has released its 2025 Prosperity Index and detailed report, which redefines public prosperity beyond mere income levels to encompass social equality, protection of minority rights, environmental protection, education, and public health.

Georgia recorded an all-time high score of 75.5% on the 100-point assessment system, placing it among the top-3 improvers in the 21st century’s Prosperity Index.

According to the report, global public prosperity improved by 7.5% between 2001 and 2024.

In Europe, the increase amounted to 6.7 points, and within the EU it was 5.5 points. In comparison, Georgia’s Prosperity Index increased by 17 points during this period.

Georgia ranks 1st globally in terms of progress made since 2012. Over the past 12 years, the country’s Prosperity Index improved by 8.8 points, moving up 23 positions in the global ranking.

Currently, Georgia ranks 47th worldwide in terms of prosperity, ahead of all its neighboring countries, all EU membership candidates, and 5 NATO and EU member states: Turkey, Albania, North Macedonia, Montenegro, EU member Bulgaria.

Georgia has been assigned the status of a “moderate prosperity” country, and it needs to move up just six more positions in the global ranking to achieve the status of a “high prosperity” country.
