As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out by the representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, one person was detained on the fact of storage of excisable goods subject to marking, without excise marks, in particularly large quantities.

Investigation determined that the accused person was storing a particularly large quantity of various branded, non-excised tobacco products intended for sale in a residential house located in Tbilisi and in the vehicle.

As a result of investigative activities, 11 143 boxes of non-excised cigarettes were seized, with a total market value exceeding GEL 96 000.

Investigation is underway under the third part of the Article 200 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 8 years.
