IMF staff visit has begun in Georgia. IMF Mission led by Alejandro Hajdenberg, Mission Chief held the first meeting with Lasha Khutsishvili, Minister of Finance of Georgia.
The purpose of the current IMF staff visit is to review Georgia`s existing macroeconomic and fiscal parameters and to familiarize themselves with the fiscal policy and forecasts developed for the medium term.
The Minister of Finance of Georgia briefed the mission on the execution of 2025 budget and key parameters of the 2026 prime financial document, which is scheduled to be approved in the Parliament of Georgia today. The discussion also covered preparatory work for the consultations envisaged under Article IV of the IMF`s Articles of Agreement scheduled for 2026.
From the Georgian side, the meeting at the MOF was attended by Giorgi Kakauridze, First Deputy Minister of Finance of Georgia and Ekaterine Guntsadze, Deputy Minister of Finance of Georgia.
