We attach great importance to a close and dynamic partnership with the People`s Republic of China. Our friendship is based on mutual respect, trust and shared priorities, said the Prime Minister of Georgia in his keynote speech delivered at an event dedicated to the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People`s Republic of China and the 80th anniversary of victory in the World War II.

Head of Government of Georgia congratulated H.E. Zhou Qian, Ambassador of China to Georgia and the Chinese people on the occasion and underlined China`s important contribution to shaping the post-World War II international order.

"Today, China serves as an example to every civilized nation as a state focused on progress, modernization and development, and as one that strengthens global peace. Elevating Georgia-China relations to a strategic level reflects the depth of our shared interests.

Georgia once again reaffirms its firm commitment and full readiness to deepen cooperation in every field. I am confident that our joint initiatives and projects will strengthen this partnership and deliver significant results.

The Belt and Road Initiative, along with transport and trade links via the Middle Corridor, offers exceptional opportunities to deepen our partnership and solidify strong ties between our nations. The dynamic cooperation between Georgia and China-including trade agreements, visa facilitation and joint investments in infrastructure and logistics-has reinforced this role and highlighted the importance of the Middle Corridor as a platform for strengthening connectivity, expanding trade and creating mutually beneficial opportunities. I am confident that the strong friendship and cooperation between Georgia and China will deepen even further, creating new opportunities for an even stronger partnership", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.

At the ceremonial reception, Zhou Qian, Ambassador of China to Georgia addressed the guests as well. The national anthems of China and Georgia were performed. The event was attended by members of Georgia’s executive and legislative authorities and representatives of the diplomatic corps.
