Within the framework of today`s meeting, we discussed in detail issues related to both bilateral relations and the future of the South Caucasus region as a whole. Such a statement the Prime Minister of Georgia made at a joint briefing with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
Head of the Government focused on the ongoing peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
"In this context, we once again want to welcome the ongoing peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Georgia firmly supports peaceful coexistence, constructive cooperation, and new initiatives in the region. We are always ready, as needed, to make our positive contribution to the development of these relations. We are ready to facilitate dialogue and the peace process.
Cooperation between our South Caucasus countries creates new perspectives for our entire region. We are observing global political changes, and these changes further increase the importance of the "Middle Corridor", including the significance of the Black Sea and the South Caucasus as a strategic space.
Our countries, as bridges connecting Asia and Europe, play a key role in terms of connectivity, and in this context, we attach special importance to the development and modernization of transport and logistics infrastructure.
Georgia and Azerbaijan have proven many times that we are reliable and responsible partners, including in international energy and transport projects", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
