Regulating food prices is very important - Kaladze

Regulating food prices is very important, said today the Mayor of Tbilisi, while commenting on the relevant initiative of Prime Minister.

"I think price regulation is very important for the food products that he was talking about. If we make comparisons, in Georgia, prices for specific products are much higher than, for example, in European countries, when this should not be the case.

Accordingly, it is necessary to regulate this, because this directly affects the population of our country, it affects the people who are most in need today and need support. Regulating this is one of the state`s priorities and this issue will be regulated very soon. There are many countries where a special basket of products such as, conditionally, flour, oil has been created, and their prices are higher than they should be. Let`s wait for the investigation to find out what we are dealing with, why the prices are so different", - said Kakha Kaladze.

As for the question about the negative attitude of opposition towards the state`s regulation of product prices, he answers that they oppose everything good that is happening in the country.

"If you look at their actions, they oppose everything that is good in the country, they oppose every step the country takes forward. On the contrary, they run around and do everything to hinder the country, even on the path of European integration, they demand the cancellation of the Association Agreement and the sanctioning of the country. They do not hide this, they speak openly and are proud that they are fighting the country. They are committing outright treason. This is an ordinary crime, with their message boxes, with their statements. Regarding the cancellation of the candidate status, they went to the offices in Brussels and demanded that this decision be made, that the country be sanctioned, etc. They are ordinary traitors and enemies of the country, they are governed from the outside - they do whatever they are instructed to do", - added the Mayor.
