The government holds a definitive vision of transforming Georgia into a high-income country within the medium term. Such a statement the Prime Minister of Georgia made during his speech at the signing ceremony of the UN-Georgia Sustainable Development Partnership Agreement for 2026–2030.

“One of the most vital priorities for our government remains the reduction of poverty and the increase of employment levels. As of the 3rd quarter of 2025, around 1.4 million people are employed in the nation. Poverty, which was 30% in 2012, has now fallen to a historic minimum of 9.4%.

Despite these significant achievements, further efforts to reduce poverty and inequality remain central to Georgia’s socio-economic development agenda. In pursuit of this goal, the Georgian government has a clear vision: to transform Georgia into a high-income nation within the medium term.

These positive indicators reinforce our confidence that the country’s development trajectory is on the right path. Georgia has established an effective governance system that lays a strong foundation for economic progress and societal well-being.
