President of Georgia denounced the BBC for publishing unverified information that harms the country, calling for a thorough investigation into the matter.

“Recently, there was the US President’s complaint against the BBC. There was disinformation about [Donald] Trump, and the BBC had to change its leadership. Drawing a parallel, nothing different is happening from what happened regarding Mikheil Saakashvili.

You may recall how the BBC, CNN, and other media outlets, through their lobbying companies, hired medical experts - there was a huge fuss, claiming that the Georgian Government was poisoning Saakashvili. They even attempted to have doctors brought from Poland secretly take samples to produce false reports, suggesting that the Georgian state was torturing him.

Remember the radical wing’s claims that if you don’t save Saakashvili today, he will die tomorrow, etc. Did anyone apologize? We remember the protest of 27 ambassadors who publicly demanded Saakashvili’s release, claiming he was in serious condition and being tortured by our Government. Later, the European Court of Human Rights rejected all these claims, confirming that he was perfectly fine and full of fighting spirit as the former President. We see what is happening.
