Officers of Adjara Main Division of the Central Criminal Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested a citizen of Ukraine, L.Sh., born in 1988, in Khelvachauri municipality, on charges of facilitating the illegal purchase, storage and sale of narcotic drugs in a particularly large amount.

As a result of a persona search and other search activities held in detainee’s temporary residential apartment, law enforcement officers seized 91 packages of the narcotic substance “Methadone” prepared for sale as evidence. The police also seized materials necessary for packaging narcotic drugs, adhesive tapes and an electric scale.

The committed crime envisions up to 20 years or life imprisonment. The investigation is underway under Article 260, Part III and Article 260 (4), Part VI, Subparagraph “a” of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
