I admire the current government of Georgia for its common sense and pragmatism. Such a statement made famous economist, global affairs expert Professor Jeffrey Sachs.

He pointed to a long history of US Central Intelligence Agency involvement in affairs surrounding Russia and noted its current encroachment into Iran`s neighborhood. As the economist added, this was "very dangerous".

"That is exactly what is happening now, and it is very dangerous. The so-called West comes and tells fairy tales to countries like Ukraine. More precisely, it overthrew the Government in Ukraine in order to have the opportunity to tell fairy tales to the regime it brought to power in February 2014.

It sings the fairy tale – "we will save you". And I tell my friends in the South Caucasus - look at the map. The US does not care about the South Caucasus. They are playing games. Be careful. Brussels is absolutely incompetent and cannot do anything useful. 

I`m sorry to say this - I used to be a big supporter of the EU - but the EU has no business in the South Caucasus. After all, this is not Europe", - said Jeffrey Sachs.
