Prime Minister of Georgia meets Emomali Rahmon, President of Tajikistan

Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia met Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Tajikistan during his official visit to Dushanbe.

The Head of Government of Georgia thanked President Rahmon for the warm hospitality extended to the Georgian delegation and expressed confidence that the first-ever official visit at the highest level would elevate bilateral cooperation to a qualitatively new stage.

During the expanded meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for further strengthening bilateral relations, as well as matters of regional and international importance.

The discussions focused on deepening trade and economic cooperation and expanding partnership in the fields of transport and logistics.

The two sides also reviewed cooperation in the areas of culture, humanitarian affairs and tourism, emphasizing their importance in fostering closer people-to-people ties between Georgia and Tajikistan. Following the meeting, Prime Minister of Georgia and President of the Republic of Tajikistan adopted a Joint Communiqué reaffirming their commitment to the further development and strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries.
