Disaster hits Akhmeta Municipality: torrential rain has caused the Khalatsani Ravine in the Pankisi Gorge to overflow, flooding the ground floors of residential properties and causing damage to local infrastructure.

According to the Akhmeta Municipality City Hall, residents are currently out of danger.

Preliminary reports indicate that the damage to infrastructure is not substantial. All competent emergency and rescue services have been fully deployed to the scene.
