We reviewed trade, economic, transport, and logistics cooperation, emphasizing the critical importance of the Middle Corridor, necessity of attracting additional cargo volumes. Such a statement the Prime Minister of Georgia made at the joint briefing with the President of Tajikistan.

"It is a great pleasure to be in the Republic of Tajikistan on an official visit today. Our peoples and countries have long been connected by a special relationship built on mutual respect. Nevertheless, today’s visit marks the first official visit at the highest level from Georgia to Tajikistan. Therefore, it can truly be described as historic. I am confident that this visit will elevate Georgia-Tajikistan relations to a new level. We are sincerely committed to further strengthening our friendship and expanding our bilateral cooperation.

During the visit, we signed both a Joint Communiqué and several bilateral agreements that will contribute to deepening cooperation between our countries.

It was a great honor for me to meet with President Rahmon today. We held productive and meaningful discussions covering a broad range of issues related to our bilateral cooperation. This year, Tajikistan celebrates the 35th anniversary of its independence. Allow me to extend my sincere congratulations and wish you - Mr. President - and the friendly people of Tajikistan peace, prosperity and continued success.

I want to take this opportunity to once again express my gratitude to the leadership of Tajikistan for its consistent support for Georgia`s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.

Today, we discussed various aspects of our cooperation, including collaboration within international organizations and reaffirmed our commitment to continuing active cooperation in multilateral formats. Particular attention was devoted to our trade and economic relations. We emphasized the importance of further deepening economic cooperation and noted that there remains considerable untapped potential, particularly in expanding trade, which deserves focused attention from both sides.

I would especially like to highlight our agreement to establish an Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.

This mechanism will serve as an important platform for advancing cooperation across all sectors. The Georgian side is fully committed to making every effort to further strengthen and expand economic relations between our countries.

We also discussed prospects for enhancing cooperation in the fields of transport and logistics. We underlined the strategic importance of the Middle Corridor and stressed the need to intensify joint efforts to attract additional cargo flows and strengthen regional connectivity. In addition, we explored opportunities to expand cooperation in the tourism sector, where we also see significant potential for closer collaboration.

High-level visits and sustained political dialogue are essential for the continued development of our bilateral relations. I had the pleasure of inviting Mr. President to pay an official visit to Georgia. We sincerely hope that he will be able to visit our country in the near future and we look forward to welcoming him to Georgia.
