The Georgian parliamentary delegation has concluded its official visit to Belgium. The Chairs of the Foreign Relations Committee and the EU Integration Committee of the Parliament of Georgia conducted a series of high-level meetings, including talks with the Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives, a member of the lower house, and senior officials from the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The discussions focused on opportunities to enhance parliamentary diplomacy, deepen cooperation between the two legislative bodies, and expand the bilateral agenda. The sides also reviewed current developments in Georgia and the broader region.

Following the meetings, the Chairman of the EU Integration Committee briefed the media. Levan Makhashvili emphasized that a significant majority of EU member states express a genuine interest in restoring a comprehensive dialogue with Georgia.

"There is a clear interest from the vast majority of EU member states in restoring a full-fledged dialogue. Naturally, taking reciprocal steps is crucial to this process. The primary objective of visits like this is to ensure we listen to one another as much as possible and secure broader backing for political dialogue. Future steps will dictate the subsequent path forward. We remain hopeful that common sense will ultimately prevail among the majority of member states", - said Levan Makhashvili.
