Employees of the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted special immigration control measures across the country.
As a result of complex measures, 54 illegal aliens were detained, including citizens of Nigeria, India, Nepal, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Jordan, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Turkmenistan, China, Pakistan, and Lebanon.
Within the framework of special immigration control measures, department employees inspected specific locations and facilities of various purposes, aimed to identify foreign nationals staying in Georgia without legal grounds.
It was established that the detained persons resided in the country in violation of the requirements established by the Law of Georgia "On the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons".
Currently, the detainees are being held at the Migration Department's temporary detention center. Relevant procedures are underway to deport them from the country.
