Verdict on Mzia Amaghlobeli case to be announced on August 6

Mzia Amaglobeli had the final say at today’s court session. Judge Nino Sakhelashvili will announce the decision on the criminal case of the founder of “Batumelebi” / “Netgazeti”, on August 6 at 14:00. The judge announced this at the session at the Batumi City Court. Police initially detained Mzia Amaghlobeli on January 11th during a demonstration near Batumi’s Police Main Department on administrative charges, then released her on a written undertaking. She was subsequently re-arrested under Article 353 of the Criminal Code, which covers assault on a police officer and carries a sentence of 4 to 7 years imprisonment.
