Speaker of the Georgian Parliament said that rebooting relations between Georgia and the United States was in the interest of both sides.
"The Government`s main criterion is to establish a new strategic partnership with the US… The main point is that during a conversation between the Prime Minister of Georgia and the US secretary of state, both sides agreed that there is a willingness to reset relations.
Georgia has outlined clear conditions for a true reset in relations. The key benchmark is the establishment of a new strategic partnership between the two countries.
We approach this issue from the perspective of our national interests, just as the US views its foreign policy from the perspective of its own national interests. We are glad that the secretary of state`s declared policy is that other countries also have their own national interests and that this understanding is taken into account in any dialogue", - said Shalva Papuashvili.
