Prime Minister of Georgia together with Revaz Sokhadze, Minister of Infrastructure of Georgia visited the Oni Municipality to inspect the construction works on the Shkmeri-Mravaldzali local road project, which is being implemented by the Roads Department of Georgia.

At the current stage, preparatory and mobilization works are underway. Construction of the road will commence once these activities are completed.

The Head of Government of Georgia emphasized the importance of the infrastructure project for the region, noting that it will improve safe and comfortable transportation for both local residents and tourists. Irakli Kobakhidze also highlighted the plans of the Government of Georgia for the development of the unique mountain resort of Mravaldzali.

“The 9.5-kilometre section of the Shkmeri-Mravaldzali road will significantly reduce travel time between Shkmeri and Mravaldzali. We have ambitious plans for the development of Mravaldzali. It is a unique location with great potential to become a world-class mountain resort developed to the highest standards. The Ministry of Economy of Georgia is actively working on this initiative together with our Austrian partners to prepare the corresponding Master Plan. Naturally, the construction of this road is of critical importance for achieving that goal. The road project is expected to be completed in approximately two years", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
