They might have taken it off the logo, but they can’t take it out of their hearts, this is the collective UNM, so logos and symbols make no difference - Papuashvili on the Alliance’s new logo

The opposition “Alliance’s” new logo - without the “United National Movement” [UNM]. Following a confrontation with Mikheil Saakashvili’s party, the alliance has also removed the UNM from its logo.

The ruling party states that the opposition has vanished from the political field, and the goal of creating an artificial alliance was a step calculated solely for their own supporters.

As Parliament Speaker notes, the logo and symbols hold no significance because the Georgian people have repeatedly witnessed this performance where they pretend to be different parties.

“They removed it from the logo, but they cannot remove it from their hearts because this is the collective UNM, and logos and symbols do not matter. Who among them is not a “Natzi” [supporter of UNM]? Is [Giga] Bokeria not a “Natzi”, [Nika] Gvaramia not a “Natzi”, or [Zurab Girchi] Japaridze not a Natzi? All of them were formal leaders of the UNM - not just rank-and-file members, but leaders, executives, and chairmen of the National Party.

They are the UNM; their genetic code is the UNM. The rest of this performance they are putting on - as if they are different parties and then this alliance of parties breaks apart again we, the Georgian people, have already seen this show many times. We hope that the Constitutional Court will soon put an end to this performance, where we are proving precisely that what we are dealing with is the organism of the UNM”, - said Shalva Papuashvili.
